How to Enter Download Mode on Samsung Galaxy S20 to S24

In this tutorial, I will demonstrate how you can enter the Download Mode on the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Ultra or S24 Plus, or any previous Samsung Galaxy device starting from the Galaxy S20 which can then be used to either update or restore your device if needed.

Step 1: Ensure your device is switched off

This can be done by holding the power and volume down buttons for 3 seconds, then tapping the ‘Power Off’ prompt twice.

Step 2: Connect your device to your computer with a USB-C cable while holding the ‘Volume Up + Volume Down’ keys on your phone

Continue holding down the Volume Up + Volume Down keys until you get a warning prompt appear on your device.

If you can’t complete step 1, connect your device, and hold down ‘Power’ and ‘Volume Down’ keys for 7 seconds until the screen shuts off, and then immediately let go of the power button and hold down the Volume Up + Volume Down keys until the warning appears.

At this point you can either choose to continue (Volume Up), cancel and restart the phone (Volume Down), or show the barcodes for device IMEI (Power Button)

Step 3: Congratulations! Your phone is now in Download Mode!

This mode will allow you to update or restore your Samsung device with secure official updates via either Samsung, and it will also allow you to check FRP lock status of the device.

if you would like to exit Download Mode and return to the Android OS, hold down Volume Down + Power for 7 seconds until the screen switches off and the device reboots.
